Dr. Clinton Jones
The research being pursued by Dr. Jones is focused on three interwoven topics:

  1. examination of the mechanism by which neurotropic alpha-herpesviruses, bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1) and herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), establish and maintain a latent infection in sensory neurons,
  2. examination of how stress stimulates BoHV-1 and HSV-1 reactivation from latency,
  3. the role that BoHV-1 plays in the polymicrobial disease and bovine respiratory disease complex.
