Fall Conference Presenter

Wednesday, November 4 2015

Stan Casteel

Stan Casteel, DVM, Ph.D., Dipl. American Board of Veterinary Toxicology, will present the Class of 1963 Distinguished Lectureship entitled, “Back Then, Now, What’s Next for Veterinary Medicine” on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 11:30 a.m. in the Wes Watkins auditorium. The keynote address is part of the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences’ 2015 Fall Conference for Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians.

Casteel is a professor of veterinary pathobiology at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. He has 28 years of experience as a researcher, teacher and diagnostician of animal diseases.

Casteel’s research expertise is in pharmacokinetic and toxicokinetic studies. His research focuses on the biodistribution and fate of a specific drug or toxicant from the time of exposure until it is eliminated and the kinetic relationships between exposure and toxicity.

Since 2001, Casteel has lectured to emergency responders across the country on how to deal with accidental, natural and intentional biological and chemical incidents affecting both animal and human populations.

There is still time to register for the two-day conference to be held Nov. 19 and 20 at the Wes Watkins Center on the OSU Stillwater campus. Veterinarians, veterinary technicians, alumni, faculty, and staff can register for a variety of events including continuing education, alumni reunions and more at CVHS Event Registration.
